ALLEGAEON Apoptosis
Hot'Apoptosis' is fifth full-lenght album from Denver, Colorado based Allegaeon, and as all their previous albums this one is also released through Metal Blade Records. Guitarist Greg Burgess is the only remaining original member, but the sound is still unmistakeable Allegaeon and we're of course talking melodic technical death metal. The basis of the music is both technical and quite brutal, while orchestral/keyboard arrangements alongside beautiful guitar and bass lines and harmonies adds an epic and melodic touch to the material. Vocalist Riley McShane (also known from among others Continuum, Son of Aurelius and Inanimate Existence) deserves credit as well for his great performance throughout the album. The production is powerful and modern sounding and it suits the material perfectly. At times Allegaeon almost sounds like a tech death version of Amon Amarth....and that's meant as a compliment. I've enjoyed all previous Allegaeon albums, and in particular the previous two, 'Elements Of The Infinite' and 'Proponent for Sentience', but 'Apoptosis' takes everything to the next level and it's for sure the bands magnum opus so far. I would highly recommend it both to fans of technical- and melodic death metal, so be sure not to miss out on this masterpiece.
