BLOODTRUTH Martyrium
HotI must admit that I have never heard, or even heard of Italian death Metal band Bloodtruth until I got this album which by the way is their second in line, but still I had high expectations when I first press the play button and that's of course due to the fact that the album is released through Unique Leader Records. That label seems to have quite high standards when they pick their artists, and very rarely release anything but premium quality. Bloodtruth is no exception to the rule and 'Martyrium' hit me like a runaway train, with its full speed ahead, hard riffing technical death metal. Despite the bands indisputable technical abilities they manage to prove their skills without sounding like a technical show off. Every single detail seems to be there for one single reason; to accentuate the song itself. Italian producer Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Stuios (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance) has done an excellent job with the mixing and mastering of 'Martyrium'. The only negative thing I can point at about this album is the fact that the 10 tracks toghether clocks in on just over 30 minutes, which is a bit too short for a full length album in my opinion. Anyway, 'Martyrium' is a great album that should appeal to death metal fans in general and not only to the tech death hordes.
