CORPSESSED Impetus Of Death

'Impetus Of Death' is the title of second full length album from Finnish death metal act Corpsessed, following up their 2014 debut. Their sound and style is pretty well rooted in the old school segment of the genre, with references to the early nineties. The songs are more or less straight forward death metal with a dark atmosphere and kind of a dirty sound. The production could definitely have been better, but I suspect that the slightly filthy and old schoolish production was just what the band was aiming for on this album. What makes 'Impetus Of Death' worth checking out though is the excellent quality of the song material and Nikko Matilainen's excellent vocal performance. There's quite a few really nice, dark sounding guitar riffs to be found here as well duelling with thundering blast beats and bass. If you preffer your death metal served filthy and raw then this is certainly one to check out.
