It has taken Deicide five years to follow up their excellent 2013 album 'In The Minds Of Evil', but now Glen Benton and Co are finally back with twelve brand new overtures of blasphemy. Since last time long time guitar player Jack Owen (now Six Feet Under) has been replaced by Mark English of Monstrosity. According to Benton himself they have really focused on the quality of the songs this time, aiming to wirite tasty licks and catchy hooks. My honest opinion is that they have really succeeded in that respect on 'Overtures Of Blasphemy'. It still sounds unmistakable Deicide and the lyrics still deals with anti-religious themes, yet this might be the most versatile Deicide album to date. The album was mixed and mastered at West West Side Music by Alan Douches and he has once again delivered a really tasty and organic production which suits the music perfectly. All songs are pure quality and I'm really enjoying this album from start to end. I know some critics claims that Deiceide remains stuck on the same track as always, but you know what.....Real quality can't be denied and to those critics I'll simply quote Benton's words; "It's what I am. Death Metal is what I do!"
