Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Habitual Depravity is the brainchild of brutal death metal enhusiast Jonathan Urwin. He is responsible for all vocals and instrumentation on 'Realms Of Abysmal Servitude', except from the drums where the duties has been taken care of by Marcho Pitruzzella (Six Feet Under, Vile, The Faceless, Vital Remains, Brain Drill). This is intricate, brutal death metal where hard riffing, but yet melodic guitars and bass are backed up by a wall of neverending blastbeats and intricate drumming and of course deep, growling vocals on top of it all. The album has a total runtime of 29 minutes which I normally find way too short for a full lenght album, but when it comes to intense, brutal death metal with so much for the brain to digest I guess it's ok. Even though Habitual Depravity doesen't really bring anything new to the table they have managed to come up with some really good songs. It's all very well arranged and played with a fine balance between brutality, technicality and melody and it comes with an excellent production as well. If you like your death metal served brutal, yet structured and melodic 'Realms Of Abysmal Servitude' can easily be recommended.
