NIGHT DEMON Curse Of The Damned

Night Demon is a 3-piece traditional metal band heading from Ventura, California and 'Curse Of The Damned' is their debut album. The first thought that came to my mind after having heard this album was that it sounded like it could have been recorded in the glorious days of heavy metal in the mid-eighties, and this goes both for the song material, the production and the all over atmosphere of the album. When it comes to the music you can hear similarities to tybical NWOBHM bands such as Diamond Head, Iron Maiden or Angel Witch but also to American bands from the same epoke such as for instance Riot. The songs are straight forward heavy metal anthems with an old school atmosphere and that goes for all the songs on the album and they're all of solid quality as well. It seems that the guys has found a winning formula that works well for them and then they see no reason to deviate from that formula, pretty much in the vein of acts like AC/DC and Iron Maiden - You always know what you will get and you always know it will work well, not very innovative of course but I honestly couldn't care less as long as its this good.
