STILLBIRTH Annihilation Of Mankind
HotGerman based Stillbirth are back with their fifth studio album entitled ‘Annihilation of Mankind’. While their 2015 album ‘Global Error’ sorted in the borderline between traditional death metal and brutal death metal, this new one is definitely a step toward more brutality. Within the death metal genre a whole waste of sub-genres has evolved over the years, and to be honest I’ve lost count over them a long time ago but I guess Stillbirth can be filed under Slamming Brutal Death Metal. The main difference between the previous album and the new one lay on the vocal side. Earlier there were mainly the typical death grunts, but now these are mixed with screaming vocals and other heavily processed vocal effects. Personally I’m not too happy with this direction since I much more prefer the traditional, deep grunt-style but that’s of course a matter of taste. Besides from that there are lots of good songs to be found on this album, and the production has been taken to another level as well, so if you’re fine with screaming vocals and heavily processed effects, you should definitely check out ‘Annihilation Of Mankind’.
