THE OUTER LIMITS Apocalyto

The Outer Limits is a Bulgarian thrash metal band formed in 2008, but existed under another name from 1988-95. Their debut album ‘World Metal Domination’ saw the light of day in 2014, and now they are back with their brand new sophomore album entitled ‘Apocalypto’. This is straight forward, hard riffing thrash metal heavily inspired by the late 80’s bay area wave and bands like Testament, Exodus, Heaten, Forbidden, Defiance and so on. The production sounds quite retro as well so if someone had told me this was an album from 1988 I would probably have believed it, and I guess that was the bands intention from the start as well. I doubt that ‘Apocalypto’ will be a very frequently played album at my home, but with that said the guys have created some nice and catchy thrash songs with cool riffing and harmonies that really catches the nerve of what the bay area wave was all about so if you’re a die-hard fan of retro thrash metal you should definitely give The Outer Limits a chance.
