THE WALKING DEAD ORCHESTRA Resurrect
Hot
Heading from Grenoble, France The Walking Dead Orchestra return with their sophomore full length album following up their 2013 debut entitled 'Architects Of Distruction'. 'Resurrect' is a concept album centred around the character of 'The Architect', who continues his story from the debut album. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to hear the debut yet, but according to the press release this new album has a sligthly more back to the roots, primal death metal approach but with a modern sound. 'Resurrect' consist of 11 tracks + a short intro, and it's more or less full speed ahead from start to end. Technical brutal death metal I would say, sometimes close to the edge of chaos but with enough structure and melody not to cross the chaos line entirely. Normally I prefer my death metal served sliglty more melodic, but in limitied portions 'Resurrect' actually works quite well. If you are into the more brutal side of technical death metal, then this 35 minutes ish of controlled chaos might very well be what you are looking for.
