Blackened death machine COMPLEXANT has arrived. These Australian extremists are poised to unleash their first-ever full-length album, Apex.
The album boasts 10 tracks of brilliantly violent riffing fueled by percussive intensity and unearthly vocals. Following a collection of critically-acclaimed singles and 2023's A Rite of Passage EP, COMPLEXANT is set to cement their status in the global metal community with Apex.
The band has launched the video for the album's first single, "No Angels Weep."
“A tale of vengeance, revenge and killing the false friends who scheme against you, when paranoia turns into reality," says vocalist Dan Greigsy about the song. "Murdered one by one with an old gardening tool, then buried in the backyard. You have freed yourself from your living burden, but you are now haunted by a rotting garden sprouting from your sins”
Apex is due out on July 31 via Bleeding Art Collective in partnership with Blood Blast Distribution.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Complexant is an Australian extreme metal band formed in Wollongong, New South Wales in 2017. Blending blackened death metal with elements of deathcore, the band has built a reputation for delivering a dark, aggressive, and atmospheric sound inspired by acts such as Behemoth, Suffocation, Emperor, and Devourment. Their music combines crushing riffs, relentless drumming, orchestral textures, and a mixture of guttural and high-pitched vocal styles to create an intense and cinematic atmosphere.
After initially being active between 2017 and 2018, the band returned in 2021 with a renewed lineup and stronger musical direction. Since then, Complexant has steadily expanded its presence in the Australian underground scene through national touring, singles, and live performances alongside various extreme metal acts.
In 2023, the band released the EP A Rite of Passage through Bleeding Art Records in partnership with Blood Blast Distribution. The release showcased a heavier and more mature sound, combining blackened ferocity with emotional and melodic elements. Vocalist Brendan Clark described the EP as a conceptual journey centered around pain, sacrifice, transformation, and personal growth through darkness.
Known for their intense live performances and uncompromising style, Complexant continues to establish themselves as one of the rising names in Australia’s modern extreme metal scene, pushing forward a sound that balances brutality, atmosphere, and emotional depth.
