The forthcoming album was mixed and mastered by the legendary Jens Bogren & Tony Lindgren.
IAPETUS released the following statement concerning The Mother Void:
"The Mother Void is the story of a mother and a son; of mankind and the cosmos; of feeling destined to failure in a world designed to destroy. It is a conceptual record, meant to be digested in whole; the conclusion to a trilogy of albums dedicated to the tension between mortal existence and immortal space. It is our most personal record to date, and its scope is mirrored in size only by the passion that accompanied its creation. We claw from The Mother Void."
The official video for "Red Giant," the album's first single, is available now:
The song will be available on all digital platforms tomorrow, August 7. Album pre-orders will be available on the same day.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Formed in Long Island, New York, Iapetus is a progressive and atmospheric death metal band renowned for blending technical musicianship, emotional depth and cinematic songwriting into a unique and expansive sound. Drawing inspiration from progressive death metal, melodic death metal, doom and post-metal, the band has established itself as one of the more distinctive acts in the modern American extreme metal scene.
Iapetus was founded by guitarist and vocalist Andrew D'Cagna and drummer Josh Culbreth, with the duo initially presenting their vision through the Soldier of Eternity demo in 2011, followed by the Eviscerate Divine EP in 2012. Even in these early recordings, the band displayed an ambition to combine crushing heaviness with intricate arrangements and introspective themes.
Their full-length debut, The Long Road Home (2017), introduced listeners to Iapetus' signature blend of technical precision, soaring melodies and emotionally driven compositions. The album received praise within the progressive metal community for its balance of aggression and atmosphere, establishing the band as an emerging force in the genre.
Two years later, Iapetus released The Body Cosmic (2019), a highly acclaimed concept album inspired by Richard Dawkins' book The Ancestor's Tale. Exploring themes of evolution, humanity and the cosmos, the album expanded the band's sonic palette with sweeping orchestration, dynamic songwriting and memorable guest performances from Einar Solberg (Leprous), Andy Thomas (Black Crown Initiate) and Jon Aldara (Barren Earth, Hamferð). Widely regarded as the band's breakthrough release, The Body Cosmic earned praise for its ambitious scope, emotional impact and exceptional musicianship.
Rather than focusing solely on technical complexity, Iapetus emphasizes storytelling, atmosphere and melody, allowing each composition to unfold naturally through dramatic shifts in mood and intensity. Their music seamlessly moves between blistering death metal riffs, haunting clean passages, progressive structures and expansive post-metal textures, creating an immersive listening experience.
Following the success of The Body Cosmic, the band signed with Willowtip Records and completed work on their third full-length album, continuing to refine their ambitious approach to progressive extreme metal.
With their combination of intellectual concepts, emotional songwriting and technical excellence, Iapetus has earned a reputation as one of the most compelling progressive death metal bands to emerge from the United States in recent years.
