OMNIUM GATHERUM have revealed a new video for “Formidable” taken off the band’s critically highly acclaimed latest opus “Beyond”.
The video was directed and shot by Hannu Mikkola / Visual Vortex at OMNIUM GATHERUM’s home town show in Kotka earlier this year as part of their “Beyond” record release party tour. As you can see it is not a huge stage, where bands usually do the “livelike” music videos, but we hope this video captured the special feeing of the evening…

OMNIUM GATHERUM are best known for playing pure northern death metal with breathtaking melodies and a songwriting that is based upon superior intelligence. On “Beyond” the Finnish six-piece appear without limitations to their forward-thinking metal that is aggressive and heavy while quoting feels from prog rock to even AOR. This is why OMNIUM GATHERUM are speaking of themselves of adult oriented death metal in its most epic and purest form. Listening to “Beyond”, the sixth album of the Scandinavians, you will be able to relate to this classification in no time.
On “Beyond” the Finns continue from where the band’s LIFEFORCE RECORDS debut “New World Shadows” (2011) left, but there are also stylistic echoes from “The Redshift” (2008/Candlelight) as well as new interesting ideas that have been brought to the integrated perception of atmospheric death metal OMNIUM GATHERUM are expanding. “Beyond” marks the first recording for guitarist Joonas Koto (To/Die/For, Malpractice) and bass player Erkki Silvennoinen (Amoral, De Lirium’s Order) who complete the new six-piece line-up of the band. Formed in 1996, OMNIUM GATHERUM released albums on Nuclear Blast, Candlelight, Rage Of Achilles and LIFEFORCE RECORDS and gathered a massive dose of praising feedback among the metal communities and medias. The band previously toured Europe alongside Dark Tranquillity, Swallow The Sun, Nile, Grave, Entombed, Caliban, Insomnium etc. Their last album “New World Shadows” ranked at #5 in the Finnish album charts, the highest chart entry for the band so far!
