ENVINYA Inner Silence

'Inner Silence' is the debut album of German based, female fronted melodic metal band Envinya. The vocals of Natalie Pereira Dos Santos is quite typical for the genre, whilst the music in general has a slightly darker, goth oriented approach. The sound is modern and the sporadic use of screaming male vocals underlines the modern approach, while the lead instrumental parts are more in the neo-classical vein. There's no doubt that we're dealing with a talented band here, Natalies vocals are great and there's a lot of interesting instrumental parts to be found on the album, but when it comes to the song material I'm afraid that it's simply not strong enough to make Envinya stand out of the huge amount of bands within this genre. Don't get me wrong, the material on 'Inner Silence' is by no means poor, I just feel that the songs in general lacks that little extra, but then again I know that lots of fans of this genre will disagree with me here.
