BEYOND CREATION Algorythm

With albums like ´The Aura´and ´Earthborn Evolution´ in their backlog Canadian technical death metallers Beyond Creation really had a mountain to climb to follow up their previous efforts. I´ve read a few early reviews of this album around the internet and most of them awarded ´Algorythm´pretty average scores. Afther having heard the album a couple of times I tended to aggree to those conclutions, but I also knew that music like this is quite demanding and after several more rounds with the album I now find it a very worthy follow up to their two excellent previous albums. Beyond Creation may not bring anything new to the table on ´Algorythm´, but they have certainly refined their already well working formula mixing progressive- and death metal of the highest technical level. The only thing that I really don´t like about this album is that they have chosen to end a few of the songs with fades, but that´s just a matter of taste I guess. I probably still keep ´Earthborn Evolution´as my favorite Beyond Creation album so far, but that doesn´t change that fact that ´Algorythm´is a damn good album as long as you are patient enough to let the material mature before drawing any conclutions.
