EXOCRINE Ascension

Execrine is a French technical death metal band, founded in 2013 in Bordeaux. 'Ascension' is their second full-length album, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance checking out their debut yet. According to the band themselves inspiration has been gained from great names within the genre, such as Obscura, Necrophagist and Beyond Creation.....which litterally spoken sounds like music to my ears. Execrine has managed to come up with a find blend of technicallity, brutality and melodic stuff combine with really good songs and a blistering no compromising performance. Supported by a massive wall of drums and bass, the guitars are certainly the main driving force in the Execrine machinery with tight, intence riffing and some superb harmonies. Some keyboard arrangements are added to the sound as well to underline the atmosphere and the production is excellent. Those who are not really into technical death metal may find 'Ascension' a bit chaotic, while die-hard fans of the genre like myself will consume it with a great smile on their face.
