FINNTROLL Blodsvept

The masters of "humppa" metal are back with the successor to their acclaimed 2010 release 'Nifelvind'. 'Blodsvept' showes Finntroll from a sligtly rawer side and the production is a bit less polished than on the previous album. The "humppa" still plays a dominant role in the sound, but theres also some more atmospheric folk elements included so secure a good contrast to the otherwise raw and brutal expression that surrounds the album. For those of you that are not familiar with Finntroll or humppa metal, it's basically a mixture of extreme metal and Finnish polka music. When it comes to the song material there's no change to the well known formula and it definitely sounds unmistakeable Finntroll so there's no need to worry if you are a die hard fan of the band. Personally I like Finntroll best in the parts where they show their more serious side with the humppa and drinking song attitude less dominant, but that is of course a matter of taste. 'Blodsvept' is a good album that will please fans of the band, simply as that.
