FIRESPAWN The Reprobate

Firespawn is a Swedish death metal act, formed in Stockholm in 2012 by Alex Impaler (Necrophobic), Lars Göran Petrov and Victor Brandt (both Entombed), Fredik Folkare (Unleashed) and Matte Modin (Defleshed). The band released their debut entitled 'Shadow Realms' in 2015, receiving mostly positive response from fans and media. Two years later the follow up is finally here and it has become an album well worth waiting for. The formula is death metal the Swedish way even though Firespawns music is probably slightly faster and more brutal than most other bands from the same area. Despite this the music is still very melodic, wih great guitar melodies and some epic, almost bombastic arrangements and a great production. Petrov's growling vocal s is certainly among the best witin this genre. It might be fair to say that Firespawn aren't offering anything new to the genre, but what they do offer is an album filled with high quality death metal anthems perfect for headbanging and a safe bet on any metalhead's vorspiel.
