GOODBYE TO GRAVITY Mantras Of War
HotThis is a rather sad story of a Romanian metalcore band whose career ended tragically on a night that was supposed to be a proud and happy moment in celebration of the new album. On October 30th 2015 they held a release party for ‘Mantras Of War’ at the Colectiv nightclub in Bucharest, the bands firework display set a deadly fire, greatly accelerated by polyurethane foam used in the club to dampen sound waves. 56 people died that night, including four out of five members of Goodbye To Gravity. That’s how a very talented band’s career ended way too early, but the music on ‘Mantras Of War’ will live on to honor the memory of all those who died that night. The music is well produced metalcore with a nice balance between technicality, aggressiveness and melody with vocals changing between clean and harsh screams. There’s also lots of fine gutiarwork to be heard here. The album consists of 9 tracks of solid quality and is highly recommended to fans of the genre. Universal Music Romania have agreed to donate all proceeds from sales of ‘Mantras of War’ to the victims of the fire. R.I.P.
