KARLAHAN Exile
Hot'Exile' is the debut album from Barcelona based progressive death metallers Karlahan. The album was recorded in The Room Studios in Barcelona, while mixing and mastering duties were handled to Dan Swanö in his Unisound Studios in Sweden. Swanö also appear as guest artist on 'Exile', and you can easily hear that Karlahan has gained inspiration from mr. Swanö's projects. Anyway, the result of this collaboration is an exiting and brilliant debut. The mixture of symphonic metal, progressive metal and death metal makes the sound original with great variation and all this has been wrapped into a typical, yet brilliant, Swanö production. I also like the mixture of clean and growl vocals and both works really well alongside the wall of guitars, bass and drums and the atmospheric, orchestral keyboard arrangements that gives the material a symphonic edge. The song material is incredible strong as well and that makes this album one of the most exciting debuts I've heard in years. 'Exile' should appeal to the progressive metal hordes out ther as well as fans of death metal. Highly reccommended.
