NAWABS OF DESTRUCTION Rising Vengeance
HotIf you had asked me just a few days ago to name a metal band from Bangladesh, I would have struggled to come up with an answer. That changed the moment I discovered Rising Vengeance, the debut album from Dhaka-based Nawabs of Destruction. Signed to the Spanish label Pathologically Explicit Recordings, the band delivers a technical, melodic death metal debut that deserves far more attention than it’s likely to get.
What immediately stands out is how remarkably strong this first outing is. Although the material is both technical and complex, it never feels like technicality for its own sake. Instead, the band channels its impressive musicianship into crafting well‑structured songs, tasteful arrangements and a genuinely captivating atmosphere. The production is also worth noting, clean, powerful and well balanced.
Vocally, the album leans primarily on deep growls, but the band isn’t afraid to incorporate harsher screams and even the occasional clean passage. The atmospheric sections, built on melodic guitar leads, harmonies and orchestral layers, reveal another dimension of their sound. Here, Nawabs of Destruction weave in musical elements characteristic of their region, giving the album an exotic flair reminiscent at times of a band like Aeternam. This influence is particularly striking in the track The Evil Within.
In short, Rising Vengeance is a damn impressive debut and a release I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone with a taste for epic, atmospheric death metal.
