If you’re looking for quality death metal releases nowadays California based label Unique Leader Records is probably one of the best places to start. Pyrexia is another good example of just that. The band was formed in the early nineties from the ashes of the band Mortuary by guitarist Chris Basile while the other members of Mortuary went to form Suffocation.  Pyrexia released a couple of albums in the nineties, they then took a break before they reunited for their 2007 release ‘Age of the wicked’ and now they are back with their brand new album ‘Feast of inquity’. Parallels can of course be drawn to Suffocation, which is natural due to their common background, but they are by no means copycats. This is simply pure brutal and groovy death metal as I should sound, technical but not too technical and with good melodies. The song material is very strong and the production is both organic and powerful. If brutal death metal is your cup of tea then you definitely don’t want to miss out on ‘Feast Of Inquity’.
