STRATOVARIUS Nemesis

Once upon a time Stratovarius sorted among my favourite bands, but that was way back in the area around 'Episode' and 'Visions' which both are excellent albums. Since then my interest for this band has gradually faded and none of their later albums have really convinced me so I guess I didn't expect much from 'Nemesis' either. But boy was I in for a surprise, 'Nemesis' sounds just like Stratovarius did in their glory days and i can safely say, in all honesty, that this album belong up there alongside 'Episode' and 'Visions'. When I listen to 'Nemesis' I  hear all the ingredients that once made me a huge fan of melodic power metal, a genre that I haven't paid too much attention to the past few years but 'Nemesis' might absolutely see a change to that. All tracks on this album are of premium standard with a much more happy approach than what we have heard on the past few Stratovarius albums and it's all surrounded by an excellent and modern sounding production. Stratovarius lost the Finnish power metal throne to Sonata Arctica years ago, but with 'Nemesis' they are once again defenders of the faith.
