SUFFOCATION ...Of The Dark Light

It's been four years since the release of the brilliant 'Pinnacle Of Bedlam', by far the best Suffocation album both in terms of song material, performance and production. A follow up album has therefore been highly anticipated and now the wait is finally over as ...Of The Dark Light is about to hit the masses. I've read a few other reviews of this album already showing quite divided opinions, and I actually find that understandable. Long time fans of the band and their early releases might not appreciate the changes that were noticable on Pinnacle Of Bedlam and even more evident on ...Of The Dark Light. Personally I consider it a change to the better, but that is of course a matter of taste. ...Of The Dark Light is definitely the most technical Suffocation album to date performed with curgical precicion within a clinical and powerful, but yet organical, production. Different, but still Suffocation I would say and all nine tracks are premium quality death metal. If I should point at one negative issue about this album it would be that the material lacks just a little bit of the "personality" and x-factor that made it's predecessor a classic witin the genre. The bottom line though, is that ...Of The Dark Light is a worthy follow up to an excellent album and I'm sure it will be very well received by the majority of Suffocation fans and fans of technical and brutal death metal in general as well.
