When it comes to classic hard rock British legends Thunder has always been a safe bet. Even though their 1990 debut 'Backstreet Symphony' is still considered to be their magnum opus all their later albums are solid quality as well. 'Rip it Up' is the eleventh studio album showing a band that sounds vital as ever and I absolutely love the guitar work Luke Morley and Ben Matthews has come up with on this one. Their simple but yet so tasteful and effective riffs and lead parts really lift the song material to new heights, and then there's of course Danny Bowes unmistakable charismatic vocals on top of it all. The song material is a fine blend of up-tempo rockers, more mid-tempo stuff and of course a sugar sweet ballad and every single track is pure quality. 'Rip it Up' contains everything you can possible wish for in a Thunder album so wether your'e a long time fan of the band or just a fan of classic melodic hard rock in general this is one you don't want to miss out on. I actually consider 'Rip it Up' as one of the best Thunder albums to date, probably even top 3.
