VOIVOD Target Earth
HotThe Canadian cult warriors of progressive (thrash) metal refuses to give up despite the passing away of founding guitarist Piggy back in 2005, and now they are back with their 13th studio album entitled 'Target Earth'. Voivod have never sorted among my personal favorites and I don't think 'Target Earth' will change that either. The album is well made and well played in a typical Voivod manner so I guess true fans of the band will be pleased with the result this time as well. The sound is filled with strange chords and harmonies which gives the material this psychedelic atmosphere that make Voivod sound different to any other band. Then you have the charismatic voice of Snake on top of everything. 'Target Earth' is absolutely a well made and consistent album with good production, but it's simply not my cup of tea.
