VOMIT REMNANTS Hyper Groove Brutality
HotThe history of this Japanese brutal death metal act goes way back to 1997. Their debut album was released in '99 before the band split up in 2001, then they reformed from 2001 to 2005 before taking another long break until they once again rose from the ashes in 2015. Finally the follow up to 'Supreme Entity' is here, released through reknowned death metal label Unique Leader Records. The album title gives you more than a hint of what you can expect from Vomit Remnants in 2017, oh yes, it's pure brutal death metal from start to end. The music is brutal for sure, but yet technical, groovy and melodic with interesting arrangements and good songs that comes with a very good production as well. The vocals changes between different techniques, from traditional growling via more distorted and processed guttural vocals to screams. I'm not a huge fan of the later two of those, but I have to admit that the combination works quite well in this case. 'Hyper Groove Brutaly' may not be the go-to album for delicate souls, but if you like your death metal served in a brutal package then thsi one is a safe bet.
