VOODOO CIRCLE Whisky Fingers
HotGerman classic hard rock band Voodoo Circle, the brainchild of guitarist Alex Beyrodt, are back with their fourth studio album entitled ‘Whisky Fingers’. The guys seem to stick to the same formula used on their previous albums, and why shouldn’t they? This is classic, melodic hard rock heavily inspired by the great British names within the genre and most of all Whitesnake. David Redman does not only have a voice similar to Mr. Coverdale, but he also use the same kind of phrasings and when the lyrics are dealing with the same kind of topics its simply impossible to avoid the comparison. But with that said, you can also hear elements of Deep Purple and Rainbow in Voodoo Circle’s music. The strange thing about it though is that it works really well, and that is of course due to great musicianship and their ability to write good, catchy hard rock anthems. All this comes alive in a well arranged and good production, and it has once again been proven that there’s no need to re-invent the wheel to create good music. Take this album for what it is, and I’m sure you will enjoy it just as much as I do.
