Biografi:

 

Animus Mortis was founded mid 04’ by N.Onfray, after some months the band recruited Sid to take the vocals and with this line up the band recorded the demo Desolated Landscapes at the end of 2004.

 

Beginning 05’, Ophiel joined the band with the purpose to structure such layout that could allow play live and to completely delink N.Onfray from drum to so let him dedicate only to strings.

 

July 05’, after a couple of live shows, the band got back to studio to record “Thresholds Of Insanity”, a sort of MCD that rescue the tracks from the first demo “Desolated…” and includes two new tracks.

 

This material was released in CD format by the French label Debemur Morti Productions, getting a great response in the European scene, while at the time the band keep working and some months after the band included to Bauda in the bass guitar. Ophiel left him place in the drum to Goebbels. This last formation was maintained until the first half of 2006, however the band continue making some changes. Goebbels finished him cycle in the band and again Animus Mortis is a trio.

 

Not being this an impediment, N.Onfray and Sidragath begin to create some of the songs that would compose the debut LP. This is highlighted in the recording of "My Ashes Inside" where again Onfray is responsible for drums and guitars.

 

Finishing 06’ the LP is fully composed musically and conceptually. The band recruited a session drummer and the recordings started. Between February and April 07’ the full-length was recorded, the title is “Atrabilis (Residues from Verb & Flesh)” and the album was released at the beginning of 08’ again by the French label “Debemur Morti Productions”.

 

With this first album, Animus Mortis positioned itself among Chilean black metal bands most recognized abroad. The European and Chileans media highlighted the work shown by the band in “Atrabilis” and new bonds in different countries of the old continent are being created.

 

During 2008 and first quarter of 2010, the band recruited many backup musicians with the purpose to cover live shows with international bands, presentations across Chile and different recordings.

 

In 2008, the band started to draw plans to make to splits with renowned bands in Spain, France and Italy. These released are already arranged to be out soon.

 

Within this process it is worth mentioning the arrival of a new and permanent member Ineffabilem.

 

Between 09’ and 10’, Animus Mortis obtained a certain degree of autonomy that allow them not only to edit materials in France, also to work simultaneously with German and Spaniard labels.

 

Currently, Animus Mortis have scheduled several releases in vinyl, including the 12”version of its disc “Atrabilis (Residues from Verb & Flesh)” and new EP that exposes the line that band is working on these days, and gives lights how is going to be the new full-length.
