Band Of Spice album2017

Legendary Swedish singer/songwriter Spice (Spiritual Beggars, Kayser) returns with 'Shadows Remain', a new album by his very own Band Of Spice, a theme record about a certain period in the singer's life that was dominated by madness. The music is like a bag of different pills. Color, taste and purposes. It's Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal. And it's Blues, Jazz, Funk and even a bit of bossanova. It's feathers and stones colliding in Spice's universe.

The sound of the album is very honest and pure. In Spice's own words: 'I believe you will get that if you dare to be naked and true to what you are doing. Not being able to put your trust in what a computer can do for you. I love to work with the space in the room. I love the craftsmanship of trusting your own ears, fingers and mind.'

Biography

Hey there,

Fed up with always having to compromise with my music and other stuff that comes along when your are in a band, I started this solo band in 2006.

First 2 albums ("The Will" and "Shave Your Fear") went under the name of SPICE and THE RJ BAND. The name was a last minute call.

This time around I have changed it to BAND OF SPICE. Same people in the band, Bob Ruben(also in KAYSER) on drums, Johann on bass + new recruit Anders Linusson(ex THE MUSHROOM RIVER BAND) on Rhythm Guitar.

In October 2010 Bass Player Johann leaves the band, Peter Lundstedt joins the band after a London gig in November 2010.

The new album is called "FEEL LIKE COMING HOME" and consists of 11 songs within a wide range of Rock and Roll. Recorded in only 7 seven days it captures that authentic “in the moment” feeling.

If you like music, you will problebly dig this one!

Cheers,

Spice.

When Spice, well known for his former engagement as vocalist of Spiritual Beggars, became fed up with the typical compromises forced upon a musician playing in a band he started his solo project Spice And The RJ Band. The outfit released two albums - The Will (2007) and Shave Your Fear (2009) - they reflected Spice's preferences for the Blues, Soul, and Hard Rock genres. The R in RJ stood for drummer Bob Ruben, the J for bass player Johan (who's last name isn't even familiar to people close to the band).

Since then the team was joined by guitarist, Anders Linusson and they changed the name to Band Of Spice. Spice follows the good old RJ Band tradition and delivers a wide range of rock'n'roll, sometimes bluesy, sometimes souly, but always straight to the point. It can at times live up to the highly influential and much celebrated Spiritual Beggars masterpiece, Ad Astra. The rumor is that more than on song on Fell Like Coming Home has spun in Spice's mind ever since the Ad Astra recordings.

When it comes to the lyrics, Spice settles the score with some old demons - incl. alcoholism - that haunted him in the course of his career. Listen to "Turn Your Face", "Last Day", or the title track and get kicked in. Or just forget about the skip button and be drawn into the flow of the whole record. It never gets old and you'll feel the urge to listen to the hits a second, third, or fourth time
