BELDAM band

Seattle (WA) - Sticking its head out of the Riff Lair, BELDAM, the Virginia-based sludge metal band is reforming, relocating to Seattle in October 2017 and releasing new album Pasung on Horror Pain Gore Death Productions in early 2018. The band has also parted ways with its original bassist.

Sophomore album Pasung, the second release on Mike Juliano's powerhouse metal label HPGD Productions, was recorded at The Bomb Shelter in Nashville and engineered by the extraordinary Drew Carroll, the man who also recorded BELDAM's original five-song demo released in 2015.

"This album represents a much sludgier sound," said Grahm Reynolds, lead guitarist and songwriter. "We were really intentional in taking a full year to record and refine the songs for Pasung. There was heavy pre-production and a significant focus on tracking the record," added Reynolds. "The final result really delivers on who we are as a band."

Clocking in at just over 50 minutes of rocket-fueled, paint peeling sludge, Pasung, captures the best of BELDAM, while positioning the band to take it to the next level in Seattle. Stay tuned!

Biography

Beldam hails from Charlottesville VA, playing sludge/doom with blackened touches. With influences as diverse as Sleep, Eyehategod, Graves at Sea and Black Sabbath, they pair primordial, buzz saw guitars and massive low end bass with earth shattering drums and intense vocals/lyrics invoking death, and despair.

Bassist Addison and guitarist Grahm came together in 2013 with a mutual love of heavy music. Early work on riffs led to adding drummer Cullen Wade as an essential part of Beldam’s sound. Grahm cut his teeth as former guitar tech and touring guitarist for Hank Williams III’s metal band, Assjack, in the early 2000s.

Addison played in Comparative Anatomy opening for Vital Remains, Absu, and Deicide. Drummer Cullen brings a diverse, hard-hitting style to the band as an established producer and multi-instrumentalist in a variety of music genres. Pennsylvania native Randall has recently been added as vocalist. With many of the same influences, he trained under former A Life Once Lost vocalist, Bob Meadows.
