Art Gates Records is proud to announce the official signing of Carcerous, one of Bulgaria's most promising and uncompromising forces in contemporary extreme metal. Known for their seamless blend of death, doom, black, and thrash metal, the Sofia-based outfit is ready to take their next massive step onto the international stage.
The band recently made waves in the underground scene with the self-release of their debut full-length album, Doomsday Factory, in the spring of 2026. This independent release showcased a remarkably professional production, blending ferocious death/black metal execution with dark, conceptual storytelling. Now, joining forces with Art Gates Records, the band is geared up to give this crushing material the global platform it deserves while looking ahead toward the horizon.
Ivan Magdalena, CEO of Art Gates Records, shares his enthusiasm about the new signing:
"CARCEROUS represents exactly the kind of passionate, uncompromising death metal band we believe in at Art Gates Records. We are proud to give their latest album a deluxe edition and to walk alongside them into what we truly feel will be a powerful new chapter with their 2027 album."
The band echoes this excitement, looking forward to an ambitious future:
"The cat is finally out of the bag! We are extremely pumped to announce our signing to Art Gates Records! This partnership will bring Carcerous to the next level and hopefully - closer to all fans around the world! Stay tuned for more news and music in the near future!"
Originally formed in Sofia, Bulgaria, in mid-2023 by Ivan Kozarev (guitars, vocals) and Konstantin Milev (drums) as a studio-only project, Carcerous quickly evolved into a fully fledged, devastating live act. By late 2024, the lineup was completed with the addition of Kristian Dimitrov on drums and Anton Dimitrov on bass, prompting Konstantin to switch fully to lead vocals.
The band made their first waves in February 2025 with the independent release of their New Age God EP, hit the stage just weeks later, and have been actively destroying venues ever since. Carcerous expertly bridges the gap between different extreme subgenres, cementing their transition into a highly ambitious death/black metal territory that refuses to play by the rules.
With a deluxe edition on the horizon and a brand-new album slated for 2027, Carcerous is a name you will be hearing a lot more of.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

CARCEROUS is an extreme death metal band from Sofia, Bulgaria, formed in 2023 by musicians already active in the local metal scene. Built around crushing riffs, oppressive atmospheres and uncompromising aggression, the band delivers a modern take on death metal while incorporating elements of doom and groove, resulting in a sound that is both punishing and dynamically varied.
The band's first release, the New Age God EP, arrived in early 2025, introducing Carcerous' heavy, dark and meticulously crafted approach to songwriting. The material quickly established the quartet as a promising new force within the Bulgarian underground, combining relentless heaviness with memorable hooks and a bleak lyrical outlook. Their live debut followed shortly after the EP's release, bringing their crushing sound to the stage.
Continuing their momentum, Carcerous released their debut full-length album, Doomsday Factory, in 2026. Expanding upon the foundation laid by their EP, the album further explores themes of dystopia, existential decay and humanity's self-destructive nature, wrapped in dense, groove-laden death metal that balances brutality with atmosphere. Remaining independent, the band continues to establish itself as one of the more notable emerging acts in Bulgaria's extreme metal scene.
