The release date of the of the new album "Age Of Steel“ by the NWoBHM Band CLOVEN HOOF on CD via PURE STEEL RECORDS is April 24th, 2020. The pre-order phase will start on April 10th, 2020 in Pure Steel Webshop.
Cloven Hoof were originally formed in the West Midlands in 1979. Following their legendary debut EP »The Opening Ritual« in 1982, Lee Payne and his boys went on to record six highly regarded full-length studio records and making a name for themselves as one of the most original sounding protagonists of the entire New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement.
The name of Cloven Hoof’s brand new studio album is »Age Of Steel«. And what a fitting title it is! Bassist and main man Lee Payne takes over the story: “I personally feel it is our best ever release, it really is a tour de force with every song a total killer! The album features the return of the ‘Dominator’ character, who has been genetically brought back to life to wield death and destruction across the galaxy. His empire is restored to its former glory and the story will conclude on the album after this, so watch this space! The concept album is back!”
“I always want to top the last album and I have to dig deep to achieve that,” continues Lee Payne with a smile on his face. “I strive for perfection and I have a very clear vision of what »Age Of Steel« should be like. »Who Mourns For The Morning Star?« was without doubt a great album. The new one just takes it one stage further with more layering and texture next to blistering heavy guitars. It will encompass everything we do well but with greater depth and colour. There are some really evil sounding tracks on there, and get ready for a really adventurous musical piece that takes up a whole side of the album.”

Cloven Hoof have attained an almost legendary status as one of the most influential bands to come out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement.
Originally formed in the heart of the West Midlands, England in 1979, the line up consisted of Lee Payne bass guitar, David Potter vocals, Steve Rounds Lead guitar and Kevin Pountney drums. The first demo tape the band did together was given the thumbs up from no lesser stars than Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) who took a copy of the tape into national Radio One, and Rob Halford (Judas Priest) who got it played on a radio station in Phoenix
Arizona. The station was bombarded with heavy metal callers who wanted to know more about the band. Soon afterwards the group were taken under the wing of ex, Judas Priest manager David Hemmings.
Since then the band have released a string of worldwide critically acclaimed albums and EP’s: The Opening Ritual, Cloven Hoof, Fighting Back, Dominator, A Sultans Ransom, Eye of the Sun, The Definitive Part One, Throne of Damnation. Resist or Serve.
The group has undergone various line up changes as is customary for a band with a 30 year history of making uncompromising British metal music. But now the band is back with a brand new line up consisting of Lee Payne / Bass, George Call / Vocals, Luke Hatton / Lead Guitar, Chris Coss / Lead Guitar, Danny White / Drums. Infused with new blood and a studio album that is their finest album to date… "Who Mourns for the Morning Star" Cloven Hoof are primed and ready to gain their rightful place amongst the heavy metal big hitters.
