Hold your loved ones, as the end is nearing. In just over two weeks time, the world will be hit with a cataclysmic tsunami of extreme metal never before experienced. Nope, this is not the result of global warming. In fact, it is something far more disturbing. The culprit? The legendary CRYPTOPSY.
To prepare you, the band has put together a precursor of this atmospheric disturbance, delivered in the form of a lyric video for the brand new song, entitled 'Fear His Displeasure'. The song is ripped from the band's forthcoming EP, The Book Of Suffering - Tome II. Frontman, Matt McGachy, remains cryptic regarding the lyrical theme...
"The idea of a lyric video is something that we wanted to explore since it was a medium which we had not touched when releasing Tome I. The lyric video for 'Fear His Displeasure' was made by Scott Rudd from Scott Rudd Film, and it's based upon the cover artwork created by Remy Cooper from Headsplit designs. As a band we discussed the importance of keeping the video dark and ominous to ensure that the lyrical content was respected and equally well depicted."
Much like 2015's critically-acclaimed THE BOOK OF SUFFERING - TOME I, TOME II, promises an inhuman musical journey that once again defies the universal laws of gravity, rhythm, vibration, polarity, and chaos. Almost unbelievably, Tome II amps up the chaos, delivering an even more ferocious and superior sounding experience, thanks in part to the knob-twiddling magic of long-time guitarist, Christian Donaldson.
Pre-orders of THE BOOK OF SUFFERING - TOME II are available now via CRYPTOPSY’s Bandcamp page as well as on iTunes. Upon pre-order, fans will receive a digital single of 'Sire Of Sin'.
