October 9, 2026! Mark this date on your calendars, it will be the moment the music scene welcomes the new record from CULTUS SANGUINE, the Italian band that has carved out a prominent place in the Metal and Gothic scene with a sound that is unique, unmistakable, and emotionally intense and full of pathos.
Titled "Tears Painted Sky", the new album will be released on all digital platforms and in physical formats (CD, vinyl, cassette, and deluxe edition) via My Kingdom Music. It represents yet another artistic evolution for the band, which has once again refined its style by blending powerful sounds with evocative atmospheres, taking the listener on a journey of no return.
Produced in collaboration with Danilo Dilorenzo of MoonHouse Studio, who helped enhance the band's sonic identity while ensuring a result of high quality and originality—the album is described by the band and those who had the honor of listening to it, as a slow and inexorable journey into the depths of the soul, where pain and darkness take shape. The tracks explore profound, personal themes, conveyed through incisive lyrics and sophisticated arrangements.
With "Tears Painted Sky", CULTUS SANGUINE push beyond the already fragile boundaries of their poetic vision, exploring painful territories and surrendering completely to the aesthetics of the end.
It's a work that offers no consolation; there's no hope, no catharsis; it's an elegant and decadent representation of the inner twilight.
The cult is alive!
Here is the comment Joe, vocalist for CULTUS SANGUINE, wanted to share with us: "The tracks on "Tears Painted Sky" represent the natural evolution of "Dust Once Alive", the album that marked our comeback and the start of a new chapter for the band. While that record drew the boundaries, "Tears Painted Sky" expands upon that vision with songwriting that is more dynamic, intense, and mature.
The new compositions push our expressive exploration even deeper: darker atmospheres, more harrowing emotions, and heightened intensity coexist in a balance between strength and vulnerability.
Each track leads the listener into a further abyss of 'True Black Sorrow'—an immersive experience in which to lose oneself and confront the most authentic emotions".

Cultus Sanguine is an Italian gothic black/doom metal band formed in Milan in 1993 by guitarist and vocalist Alex “Strep” Nunziati. Emerging during the flourishing Italian extreme metal scene of the 1990s, the band developed a unique sound that fused the bleak atmosphere of gothic doom with the raw intensity of black metal, creating a dark and melancholic identity that set them apart from many of their contemporaries.
The band's first release was the self-titled EP Cultus Sanguine in 1995, introducing their characteristic blend of haunting melodies, mournful keyboards, crushing riffs, and emotionally charged vocals. Their debut full-length album, Shadows' Blood (1998), further refined this style, combining gothic elegance with blackened aggression and earning the band recognition within the underground European metal scene.
In 1999, Cultus Sanguine released their second album, The Sum of All Fears, which showcased a more mature and atmospheric songwriting approach while maintaining the band's unmistakably dark aesthetic. Despite positive reception from fans of gothic and extreme metal alike, the band disbanded in 2001 after only a handful of releases.
After nearly two decades of silence, Cultus Sanguine reunited in 2018. The long-awaited comeback culminated in the release of Dust Once Alive in 2022, their first studio album in over twenty years. The record successfully recaptured the band's signature blend of gothic melancholy and blackened heaviness while introducing a modern production and a more refined compositional style.
In 2024, the band released the live album Live at Midnight Club alongside the extensive anniversary box set Through The Years Of Sombre (XXX Anniversary), celebrating three decades of Cultus Sanguine. The collection highlighted both the band's legacy and its renewed creative vitality.
Today, Cultus Sanguine remains one of Italy's most distinctive cult acts within the gothic black/doom metal genre. Their music continues to resonate with listeners who appreciate dark, emotional, and atmospheric extreme metal, securing the band's place as an influential name in the Italian underground.
