Progressive/Brutal Death Metal luminaries DEFEATED SANITY return July 24 with The Sanguinary Impetus on Willowtip Records. Album cut "Propelled into Sacrilege" is streaming below:
The Sanguinary Impetus is perhaps the ultimate expression of DEFEATED SANITY's signature blend of the brutal with the technical, performed in a manner largely unparalleled in the world of extreme metal. At once comfortably recognizable and awe-inspiring, the forthcoming album is sure to be a lock for many year-end lists. Sickening riff crunch, hammering beats, and technical wizardry combine to create a level of sonic violence that won't soon be forgotten.
The band released the following statement concerning the forthcoming album:
"With The Sanguinary Impetus we have created our most complex album to date. We had strayed pretty far from our style musically with Disposal of the Dead/Dharmata and felt a strong urge to pick up where we left off with Passages Into Deformity and expand on the trademark DS sound."

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO
DEFEATED SANITY was formed c.1994 as a project of Wolfgang Teske (guitar) and Lille Gruber (drums) with the intention to play the most brutal and intense Death Metal possible. The band started playing shows in 1996 with the help of session musicians Jonas Gruber (bass) and Robert Colnik (vocals). With this line-up the band also recorded 2 demos ‘Devoured By The Black’ (1996) and ‘Withdrawn From Beauty’ (1998).
The next step was to find musicians able to play the very complicated and difficult songs. Those guys were Tino Köhler (bass) and Christian Münzner (guitar). In 2001 Czech label GRODHAISN PRODUCTIONS released a split-CD with POPPY SEED GRINDER with vocals by Marcus Keller. Also recorded in 2001 was the ‘Collapsing Human Failures’ contribution to the Split 7” EP with IMPERIOUS MALEVOLENCE, which would be the last containing guitarist Christian Münzner (who then became part of NECROPHAGIST).
In late 2004 the band released their debut full length album, 'Prelude To The Tragedy' on UK label GRINDETHIC RECORDS.
Defeated Sanity has now undergone further line-up changes with Jens Staschel joining on vocals, Christian Kuehn on guitar and Jacob Schmidt filling in on bass. In August 2006 the band entered Soundlodge Studios and recorded their second album, 'Psalms Of The Moribund' which was released by GRINDETHIC RECORDS in early 2007. Now, in 2009, Defeated Sanity has signed to Willowtip and will release their new album, "Chapters Of Repugnance" later this year.
