In July Estonian progressive metallers EMPHASIS have revealed details for their second LP 'Soul Transfer'. The concept album, consisting of 14 tracks, will be released worldwide in early 2018 on the label Red Rivet Records (Japan).
The band has repeatedly noted that they got an unexpected result due to the huge number of musical experiments. 'Obviously, this album has a lot of jazz influences. Our guest musicians did an excellent job! So far, this is our most serious work for us. It’s more progressive than a symphonic metal album. And we’re happy about that!"- Emphasis said.
LP "Soul Transfer" was recorded at StoneOil Studio (Kivioli, Estonia) by Pavel Korotaev, guitarist, and songwriter of Emphasis. 5 guest musicians also took part in the work on the album, including well-known Estonian jazzmen Raul Sööt (saxophone) and Allan Järve (trumpet), blues guitarist Oleg Lyutskevich (Moscow, Russia), violoncellist Alexandr Smirnov and violinist Julia Mets. 'Soul Transfer' is totally concept album: the story of a man, his fate and enticing prospects of eternal life in the context of global digitalization.
Female fronted progressive metal act EMPHASIS was formed in 2010 in Estonia, a small country in Northern Europe, by bassist Katya Gritskova and guitarist Pavel Korotaev. Their music is a mix of classical harmonies, heavy guitar riffs and powerful operatic vocals of their gorgeous front lady Anna Ganina. For the last five years, the band played dozens of shows in Baltics and Finland. Their debut full-length album "Revival" was released in spring 2016 under Italian label Underground Symphony and received a lot of positive reviews.

Five-track EP "Into Infinity" was released in November 2012 and premiered via Estonian rock radio station “Radio Mania”. Debut mini-album received positive reviews from all over Europe, USA, Latin America and Russia. Their first mini-tour in support of "Into Infinity" took place in the Baltic States. A year later Emphasis became a member of showcase festival 'Tallinn Music Week' and 'Hard Rock Laager Open Air', the most largest musical events in their homeland Estonia.
In Autumn 2013 the amazing opera singer Anna Ganina joined the band. With her arrival, the style of Emphasis became more symphonic. In September 2013 they released their second single “Hopeless”. A few months later they included it in the worldwide compilation “Ladies First” (Label “Metal Del Mundo”, Germany) and the renewed band went back on the road across the Baltic States and Finland together with Finnish Dark Metal formation Teardown.
In April 2014 Emphasis released one more single with the new line-up called “On the Wings of Freedom”, played by different Baltic radio stations. The band played dozens of shows in the Baltic states and Finland, sharing the stage with Testament, Skyforger, Arkona and many others.
In 2015 the band signed a contract for their debut full-length album release with Italian label Underground Symphony. “Revival” consists of 8 songs and one bonus track and it is a masterpiece for fans of Within Temptation, Nightwish and Opeth. The album released on April 15 in deluxe digipack edition through Underground Symphony Records.
