It's been four years now since Portland, Oregon's Forsaken Eternity swept us up into the arms of their debut album, the freezing storm of metal that was A Kingdom Of Ice - an album that The Dark Melody described as “brimming with nuances and atmospheres”, while numerous other publications followed with equally fulsome praise. Since the release of A Kingdom Of Ice the core members of Forsaken Eternity have remained united, multi-instrumentalist Vladislav Gayko and vocalist/lyricist Nathan Mote and they are now ready to reveal the next chapter in the unfolding tale of Forsaken Eternity. With the assistance of drummer Pierce Williams and returning keyboard player Brian Rush, both ex-members of death metal behemoth Skeletal Remains, Gayko and Mote have crafted a new voyage into the unknown, a new rush of atmospheric, melodic death metal steeped in symphonic might…Shades Of Existence!
The four track odyssey of Shades Of Existence begins with its first single - 'Adrift In A Twisted Ethereal'. Speed, melody, technicality and engulfing atmosphere combine with grandeur and drama as Mote's sinister voice snarls from the furious blizzard of dazzling guitar work and cataclysmic drums. There is no gentle immersion into Forsaken Eternity's latest creation; this storm hits hard and fast. That feral voice brings an edge of darkness to the incisive riffs and winter winds of 'Whispers From The Moon' and the keyboards engage in a furious duel with the flashing blade of Gayko's guitar. The song builds to towering peaks as it charges forward on waves of emotion, leading us to the lair of the 'Celestial Witch'. A dread presence haunts the vast, dramatic landscapes of this third track, permeating the breathless leadwork, keyboard sorcery and relentless, hammering drums. Ending in obscuring mists, 'Celestial Witch' dissolves into the majestic swathes of sound that comprise 'Shades Of Existence' - a conclusion to an exhilarating journey and a promise of more to come…
When they began work on Shades Of Existence, Forsaken Eternity pledged that the new riffs would be of the highest quality, that they would retain the level of technicality displayed on A Kingdom Of Ice without sacrificing a single shred of melody, that they would raise the bar on their past achievements - and they have proven true to their word. Be ready to experience Shades Of Existence on September 25th, when Rottweiler Records reopen the gates to the kingdom of Forsaken Eternity once more…

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Formed in 2015 in Portland, Oregon, Forsaken Eternity is an American melodic black/power metal band that combines the grandeur of European power metal with the darkness and atmosphere of melodic black metal. Their music is characterized by soaring melodies, neoclassical guitar work, symphonic textures, and fantasy-inspired storytelling, creating a sound that is both epic and cinematic.
The project was founded by guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist Andrew D'Cagna, who envisioned a band capable of blending aggressive black metal influences with the uplifting spirit of classic power metal. Drawing inspiration from bands such as Blind Guardian, Emperor, Wintersun, and Yngwie Malmsteen, Forsaken Eternity developed a distinctive style built around intricate musicianship and memorable melodies.
In 2016, the band introduced itself with the standalone single "Of Serenity and Starfire," offering an early glimpse of its melodic and symphonic direction. Their debut full-length album, A Kingdom of Ice, followed in 2019 and showcased an ambitious collection of songs exploring themes of time travel, fantasy, dreams, and humanity's darker nature. The album also featured a technically impressive cover of Yngwie Malmsteen's "Rising Force," highlighting the band's strong neoclassical influences.
Forsaken Eternity signed with Rottweiler Records, giving the band a wider international audience within the melodic and Christian metal communities. While the band's lyrical themes are largely centered on fantasy and philosophical concepts rather than overt religious messages, their association with the label has helped establish them in the modern American metal scene.
Although still relatively underground, Forsaken Eternity has earned praise for its polished songwriting, technical proficiency, and ability to merge the intensity of black metal with the triumphant atmosphere of power metal. Their music appeals to listeners who appreciate both extreme metal aggression and melodic sophistication, making them a noteworthy addition to the contemporary American melodic metal landscape.
