Since he began his journey under the Foul Body Autopsy banner, back in 2010, Tom Reynolds has released two full length albums and an array of remarkable EPs. On these shorter form releases Tom seems to capture his finest work and that has been particularly true since he unleashed the superb The Unquiet Dead in 2019. From the bravery and unflinching honesty of the Shadows Without Light trilogy, to the nightmarish visions of Crucifix Dreams and most recently the historical horrors of The Discovery Of Witches, it has been fascinating to watch the Foul Body Autopsy story unfold. Now Tom Reynolds is ready to unveil the latest chapter in this tale, sharing not only his trademark razor-wire riffs but his personal struggles and fears - featuring the most accomplished Foul Body Autopsy recordings to date, this is Between The Worlds We Made.
“The new EP is about absence, grief and heartbreak, but more broadly about the future becoming uncertain.”
- Tom Reynolds
At this point in his life Tom finds himself coping with heartbreak, but also with being diagnosed with essential tremor, a neurological condition that causes uncontrollable rhythmic shaking, most commonly in the hands. It's a diagnosis that clearly casts a shadow of uncertainty over his future in regard to Foul Body Autopsy, but Tom is approaching the issue with his customary openness and has channelled his worries and underlying grief into two incredible tracks. Title track, 'Between The Worlds We Made' opens proceedings with precise and powerful riffing, fiercely focussed and tight as a vice, before opening up into a rich and enveloping chorus. Tom's vocals are expressive and impressive, with a newfound depth and strength and at the song's heart lies a melancholic, melodic section, a pool of sorrow to drown in. 'The Language Of Ruins' then brings together beautiful, reflective melodies with incendiary intensity, blending the two elements with accomplished skill and musicianship. Tom's mastery of melody is now as relevant to the Foul Body Autopsy sound as his long-acknowledged prowess as a riff writing machine. Within the darkness of hardship and adversity, Tom Reynolds has found the creative fire to deliver two of Foul Body Autopsy's finest ever songs.
“It's essentially about the acute pain at the very beginning of the grieving process. The lyrics were written in the days after everything went wrong, before everything had been processed, before the dust had settled, and before I knew what to do next, trying to move forward while being completely out of hope.”
- Tom Reynolds

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Foul Body Autopsy is a British death metal project formed in Leicester, England, in May 2010 by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Tom Reynolds. Named after a song by technical death metal band Necrophagist, the project began as a one-man assault of aggressive death metal, combining relentless riffs, programmed drums and uncompromising lyrical themes.
Reynolds handles virtually every aspect of Foul Body Autopsy, including guitars, vocals, bass and drum programming. Originally rooted in brutal and technical death metal with grindcore influences, the project's sound has gradually evolved towards a more melodic and atmospheric form of death metal while retaining its characteristic intensity.
Following several early EPs, Foul Body Autopsy released its self-titled debut full-length album in 2013. The project subsequently gained recognition within the British underground metal scene, performing at numerous concerts and festivals, including Bloodstock Open Air in 2011 and 2015. Reynolds has also shared stages with established extreme metal acts such as Aborted, Decapitated, Cannabis Corpse, Aeon and Thy Art Is Murder.
The 2014 EP "So Close to Complete Dehumanization" marked an important chapter in the project's development, followed by releases including "Perpetuated by Greed" and "Burn Them All" in 2016. Throughout this period, Foul Body Autopsy increasingly explored themes of political corruption, social injustice, environmental destruction and the darker aspects of human society.
In 2018, Reynolds released the second full-length album, "This Machine Kills Zombies", a concept album inspired by the zombie films of George A. Romero. Combining death metal and thrash influences, the album used apocalyptic imagery to examine social collapse, biological warfare and humanity's self-destructive tendencies.
Subsequent releases demonstrated a growing emphasis on melody, atmosphere and personal expression. EPs such as "The Unquiet Dead" (2019), "Consumed by Black Thoughts" (2020), "Crucifix Dreams" (2023) and "The Discovery of Witches" (2024) expanded the project's musical and thematic scope. The three-part "Shadows Without Light" series, released between 2021 and 2022, further highlighted Reynolds' increasingly introspective songwriting.
In November 2026, Foul Body Autopsy is scheduled to release the two-track EP "Between The Worlds We Made". Produced and mixed by Russ Russell and mastered by Stephen Kerrison, the release explores grief, heartbreak, absence and uncertainty through emotionally charged melodic death metal.
More than fifteen years after its formation, Foul Body Autopsy remains an independent and continually evolving force within the British extreme metal underground, driven by Tom Reynolds' distinctive combination of aggressive musicianship, melodic songwriting and deeply personal lyrical expression.
