After 17 years of silence, Freternia has now returned. One of the founding bands of the Swedish Power Metal phenomena dating back to 90’s. The band is well known in the metal community and now returns with their third full-length album “The Gathering”. Inspired by fantasy, real life and personal tragedy, the variety of the 12 songs is simply amazing. In the mighty first wave of Swedish heavy/power metal bands, together with bands like HammerFall, Nocturnal Rites and Lost Horizon and Freternia was created in 1998. After a split EP, and 2 full length albums, the band slowly dissolved in 2003. But the band officially never split up, and after a get together last year (and under the influence of some bottles of rom) the old members realized that 2018 would mark the 20th anniversary of the band.

 

Since the band dissolved the band’s music has lived its own life at social medias, with a strong following in South America. Not to mention that the fan video to the ballad ”The Dragon Song” now has over 420 000 streams at YouTube.

 

Freternia have recorded a third album and is in negotiations with several labels. The new album will be released during 2019 and in order to support it the band is planning a tour. Freternias debut can be found on spotify and the second album is in planning stage of being released on digital platforms. However for promotional purpose the second album “A nightmare Story” can be found on soundcloud.
