Finnish metal band Garden of Stone are set to release their second album 'For the World of the Obsolete' on December 11th 2026 via Inverse Records. The fourth single, “Satumaa-tango,” is out, accompanied by an official music video.
Garden of Stone proudly presents their own version of Maija Vilkkumaa’s legendary hit “Satumaa-tango”. The band infuses their own blend of heavy and death metal to the song, with unabashed double bass and screaming vocals, while still remaining faithful to Vilkkumaa’s original composition. This is exactly the cross-over you didn’t know you wanted, but definitely needed!

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Garden of Stone is a Finnish melodic death and heavy metal band formed in Tampere in 2023. Combining melancholic rock, melodic death metal, progressive metal and elements of black metal and shoegaze, the band has developed a diverse sound characterized by atmospheric melodies, crushing guitar riffs, powerful rhythms and a mixture of clean and harsh vocals.
The group was founded by guitarists Jere Mäntysalo and Ville Penkari, who recruited vocalist Jesse Salo to bring their musical vision to life. Drummer Tapio Haverinen and bassist Kalle Hänninen subsequently completed the lineup.
Garden of Stone introduced themselves with the single "Hymn of a Dead Man Pt.1" in December 2023, followed by their debut EP, "Tides of Decay", in February 2024. The release established the band's blend of melancholic atmospheres, melodic songwriting and heavier metal influences.
Their debut full-length album, "The Grave Mistake", arrived in January 2025 through Inverse Records, expanding their musical approach with contrasting passages of aggression, introspection and melody.
Continuing their development, Garden of Stone announced their second studio album, "For the World of the Obsolete", for December 11, 2026, again through Inverse Records. Pre-release singles including "Silence Falters", "Obsession" and "Red Giraffe" demonstrated the band's increasingly adventurous songwriting, incorporating progressive structures, black metal influences and atmospheric rock elements.
Refusing to be confined by traditional genre boundaries, Garden of Stone continues to explore the contrast between melancholy and aggression, combining emotional depth with the intensity of modern extreme metal.
