Hamburg based power metal band IRON SAVIOR was facing a problem: what to do when your early albums are not available regularly anymore but a re-issue is not possible due to legal reasons? Well, the decision was made to use this situation to give the material a sonic upgrade.
“We can’t re-release our albums from the Noise Records years in their initial form”, band boss Piet Sielck says, “but we are free to re-record songs from these albums. We’ve approached this challenge with a lot of enthusiasm”.
What Sielck refers to, became a 19 tracks strong double album now, titled ‘Reforged - Riding On Fire’, which consists of the best and most popular songs IRON SAVIOR have released so far. These 2017 re-recordings come with a much more powerful sound of course, but the band managed the task to keep the songs’ character and feel.
Demand is steadily rising: especially after the band’s latest album ‘Titancraft’ (2016), which became the biggest chart success in their history, new fans wanted to discover IRON SAVIOR’s catalogue. They’ll now get the best 19 tracks with an upgraded sound – of course mixed by Piet Sielck. 'Reforged - Riding On Fire' highly enjoyable treat for old and new fans alike.

BIOGRAPHY
The titans of German metal are back with an incredibly strong new offering: IRON SAVIOR will release ‘Titancraft’, their already 9th studio effort, on May 20th. Following 2014’s ‘Rise Of The Hero’ (which became the band’s biggest chart success to date), a revised version of their ‘Megatropolis’ album (‘Megatropolis 2.0’) and the Live DVD/CD ‘Live At The Final Frontier’, mastermind Piet Sielck and his mates now finally come up with a brand new collection of well-crafted metal tunes who don’t fall short in comparison to the band’s already impressive catalogue. As expected (and appreciated) you find all the band’s typical trademarks here, in a well balanced mixture of fast-paced and stomping tracks. Mentioning of highlight tracks almost wouldn’t do justice to the rest of the material, as there’s a throughout quality only few bands are abale to deliver. Choosing a song for a single release became quite a task this way. In the end, the furious ‘Way Of The Blade’ was the chosen one - and will also be the first IRON SAVIOR song to be accompanied by an “official” video clip.
Mastermind Piet Sielck again took care of mix and mastering which resulted in the sonically best IRON SAVIOR production so far.
The history of IRON SAVIOR began in 1996 when the band was founded by Piet Sielck, Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray) and Thomen Stauch (Blind Guardian), at first only to be a studio project. But the musical direction was clear right from the start: traditional (and influenced by NWOBHM greats such as Judas Priest and Iron Maiden) power metal with science fiction concept-linked lyrics. The rough, expressive voice of Sielck set additional accents that gave the band its own profile.
In 1997 they released their debut album ‘Iron Savior’ which was received in the scene with lots of praise and quickly established the new band. With the second album ‘Unification’ the savior made it to the top 100 of the German chart. It was followed by further studio albums in ‘Dark Assault’ (2001), ‘Condition Red’ (2003), ‘Battering Ram’ (2004) and 2007´s ‘Megatropolis’. Meanwhile, the line-up had changed. Since 2001, after the exit of Hansen, Piet Sielck remained the last of the three founding members, and he is still holding the band and their vision steadily on route.
After four years of silence the mighty Savior was celebrating a triumphant return with ‘The Landing’; followed by the equally strong ‘Rise Of The Hero’ just two years later. After that, ‘Megatropolis 2.0’ (a revised version of 2007’s ‘Megatropolis’ album) was released and in the very same year (2015) also the band’s first ever Live release (DVD/CD) ‘Live At The Final Frontier’ saw the light of day. But when it comes to enthusiasm and anticipation, nothing beats the launch of an IRON SAVIOR album with all new material. ‘Titancraft’ is proof of that.
