Mangled Carpenter band

Mangled Carpenter is set to return with their new EP Between Blood And Silence, the follow-up to their 2023 release Salvation Syndrome. The upcoming project finds the band expanding their established deathgrind foundation with a darker, more atmospheric approach that also leans into mechanical textures and slower, groove-driven moments.

The EP opens with its title track, 'Between Blood and Silence', immediately introducing a heavier, more deliberate tone, infusing new deathcore elements that show up throughout the release. Songs like 'The Absence Of Light' and 'Carved' show different sides of the band's evolving sound, with the former delivering a more corrosive and aggressive attack, while the latter slows the pace into a crushing, chug-driven groove. Elsewhere, 'Down, Down, To Goblin Town' stands out as one of the EP's strongest cuts, blending grind, weight and memorable structure in a way that feels both hostile and strangely infectious.

A major part of the EP's impact comes through Seth Metoyer's vocal performance, which moves between intelligible force, harsh intensity and a more unstable edge that adds to the release's oppressive atmosphere. Rather than abandoning the band's core identity, Between Blood And Silence builds on it, stretching Mangled Carpenter's sound into more experimental and mood-driven territory without losing its aggression.

The EP also includes a cover of Mortification's 'Terminate Damnation', drawn from the band's landmark album Scrolls Of The Megilloth, along with 'Short, Sharp, Shock', a track whose title accurately reflects its blunt-force delivery.
