The band comments about the song: "The Romans knew big time how important entertainment and life’s pleasures were to combat day-to-day stress and worries. One such ritual was the Bacchanalia ("feast of Bacchus"), an extravagant Roman party including excessive drinking, food, orgies and fun in worship of the God of wine, fertility and harvest, Bacchus! We know how boring, stressful and frustrating the current home quarantine/social distancing life can be, and we know many of our fans haven’t enjoyed a good metal show for some time now. Therefore in true Finnish "kalsarikännit" fashion (yes, we actually have a word for getting drunk and partying alone in your underwear at home) we are bringing the song back with a single release including an instrumental version, an exclusive karaoke version to enjoy at home (both in audio and video format), as well as a brand new music video with some epic footage from our first show ever in February! Take a journey back in time with us to that fun evening, sing along and don’t forget to party hard!"

The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Goodman Studios and Tadaa Music Studio by Esa Orjatsalo.
The artwork was created by the renowned Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák (Blind Guardian’s Twilight Orchestra, Stratovarius, Accept, Grave Digger, Powerwolf and many more).
The album also features a spoken word part by Maurizio Iacono (Kataklysm, Ex-Deo) in the last song 'Germanicus'.

The band was formed in late 2017 by Esa Orjatsalo (ex-Dreamtale) and Sami Hinkka (Ensiferum), who had met and discussed the deeper meanings of power metal in Ensiferum's tour bus.
The line-up was soon completed with Atte Marttinen (ex-Kivimetsän Druidi), Benji Connelly (Everfrost), Mikko Salovaara (Leverage) and Mikael Salo (Everfrost). The band promises to “Make Power Metal Great Again” with their powerful sound and epic concepts, ones that deal with different historical themes and mythologies.The idea was that every album would have a theme based on a certain country’s / culture's history and mythology. The debut album will deal with the Roman Empire and the many tales, true stories and philosophies associated with it. Each song is about a different aspect of this grand topic, and while being enjoyable as escapist storytelling in itself, also delves into the mindset of the different characters and people from whose perspectives the songs are written.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO
Esa Orjatsalo, who used to play in the classic Finnish power metal band Dreamtale, had been composing music on his chest of drawers with the idea of some day making a Rome-themed album. He met another power metal enthusiast, bassist Sami Hinkka while being a guitar tech for Sami’s folk metal band, Ensiferum.
During the long van rides across Finland from gig to gig, these guys had many hours to talk which is where it all started. The idea of making just one theme album expanded to a totally new band. The idea was that the music would be, to put it modestly, the best power/heavy metal ever made, and every album would have be themed after a certain country’s/area’s history and mythology. The point was not to be ”Wikipedia-metal”, but contribute a new angle to the ancient stories and myths.
Besides being a world class guitar player, Esa is also a professional sound/studio engineer who already had his eyes on a fastastic young singer, Mikael Salo (Dyecrest, Thy Row etc.). When the three met, it was clear the chemistry and ambition for the music matched, thus Metal De Facto now had an amazing singer.
The band’s keyboardist was found through Mikael’s other band, Everfrost. Benjamin Connelly, born in Australia moved to Finland to make music in the metal hub of the world. He lives in Lapland and is a real multi-instrumentalist (keyboard, drums, guitar...), and obviously was welcomed to the band with open arms.
Mikko Salovaara is a very well known guitar hero in Finnish metal scene from numerous bands and projects for example Kiuas, Leverage, Dimebag Beyond Forever etc. Besides being a great guitar player, singer and composer he was already a good friend so it was natural to ask him to join the ranks of Metal De Facto.
Magnificent drummer Atte Marttinen (Kivimetsän Druidi) finalized the ambitious and talented line-up in Spring 2018. Even though all members have other bands, Metal De Facto is not just a side project or ‘one album all-stars’ thing. Everyone in the band is committed to making Power Metal great again, and countless themes await for us to explore and base our ass-kicking music on. The first album ”Imperium Romanum” was completed in Spring 2019 and upon its release, Metal De Facto will start touring. But just as a head’s up, songs for the second album are already being composed and the theme is selected, so stay tuned!
