BIOGRAPHY
For 27 years, Mortal Decay has been one of the true underground forces in death metal. Having performed on both sides of the continent, their music has showcased their technical abilities while still retaining brutality. As trends in music come and go, Mortal Decay consistently perform a unique brand of death metal with astounding songwriting abilities.
The band’s success began in 1995 when they recorded the critically acclaimed “Brutalizing Creations” demo, garnering a prestigious “10 Skulls” in S.O.D. magazine. With success of their demos and an increasing fan base, Mortal Decay devastated audiences with their sick live performances. Performing with recognized acts SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY, RIPPING CORPSE, and IMMOLATION, the band was an integral part of the emerging death metal scene.
During this time the band was approached by Pulverizer Records to record their first full length album “Sickening Erotic Fanaticism”. The album was ahead of its time with its tempo changes and a fine balance between brutal riffs and melodic dirges.
For worldwide distribution, Mortal Decay made the jump to underground death metal-superpower Unique Leader Records. The band began working on their second full length album titled “Forensic”. The album featured a more progressive and technical approach showcasing the band’s musical capabilities, lyrical intelligence and a unique vocal approach.
During the releases of their first two albums, Mortal Decay embarked on numerous US tours and Metalfests. They have graced the stage with DEADEN, DISGORGE, DEEDS OF FLESH, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, ORIGIN, INCANTATION, MORBID ANGEL, BROKEN HOPE, and have performed at the Milwaukee Metalfest, Central Illinois MetalFest, Maryland DeathFest, Ohio Deathfest, and the NRW DeathFest in Germany.
After recording their third full length album “Cadaver Art”, the band embarked on their first European tour with BEHEADED, BRUTUS, and NECROCEST. Cadaver Art continued the tradition of Mortal Decay’s formula of extreme music, complex songwriting and dark lyrics.
Currently, Mortal Decay are busy working on their fourth full length record. This will be their best release as the song writing process is more involved by taking all elements of extreme music that is executed at chaotic precision. With all of their success and accomplishments, Mortal Decay have always been a D.I.Y. band. Their perseverance and dedication is attributed to their busy rehearsal and performance schedules, and endless promotions. Respected by their peers, fans, magazines, and promotion companies, Mortal Decay is ready to unleash their brutality!!!
