Dallas (TX) - Progressive Death Metal duo, Sallow Moth, will release new album, Hydrophilous Brood July 24 on Willowtip Records!
Hydrophilous Brood takes place in Pamugara, a dimensional nest immersed in a lush world where organisms are rematerialized into new hybrid species after passing through a powerful portal, a highly unpredictable artifact known as the ‘Mossbane Lantern’. Each song has a thematic connection to various artifacts on the previous album (Mossbane Lantern), extrapolating the characteristics and aftereffects of those artifacts within this temperamental environment of a planet.
Musically, Sallow Moth goes hand in hand with the aforementioned lyrical themes of transformation in that the continuous evolution of the project has become a signature feature with each album. This album retains a portion of the genre-shifting approach of previous works, but deliberately exhibits more focus on the intersection of technical death metal and brutal death metal, especially with the addition of a highly skilled drummer in Allen Gingerich. Notable influences on Hydrophilous Brood include Mortal Decay, Wormed, Deeds of Flesh, Cephalic Carnage, and Cynic.
"Distended in Panglacial Advent," the album's first single, can be seen below:

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Sallow Moth is an experimental progressive death metal project from Dallas, Texas, created by multi-instrumentalist Garry Brents. Emerging from the American underground metal scene, the project blends technical and atmospheric death metal with elements of progressive metal, cosmic horror, industrial textures, and dark science-fiction themes.
Known for its dense songwriting and unsettling atmosphere, Sallow Moth explores concepts inspired by decay, mutation, existential dread, and surreal nightmare imagery. The music often combines dissonant riffs, layered synths, chaotic drum programming, and cavernous vocals, creating a sound that shifts between brutal aggression and eerie ambient passages.
Garry Brents, already recognized for his work in bands and projects such as Gonemage, Cara Neir, Memorrhage, and Homeskin, uses Sallow Moth as a platform for his most abstract and experimental ideas. Since its formation, the project has released a steady stream of EPs, demos, splits, and full-length albums, gradually building a reputation within the avant-garde and underground death metal community.
Albums such as The Larval Hope and Stasis Cocoon helped establish Sallow Moth’s identity, showcasing a balance between technical precision and oppressive atmosphere. The project continues to evolve with increasingly bizarre and otherworldly compositions, appealing to listeners who enjoy unconventional and boundary-pushing extreme metal.
