WATCH THE PRE-PERFORMANCE VIDEO HERE:
The video has been shot during the coronavirus pandemic isolation period. In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, Shatter Brain exploited the magic of video conferencing software to live-stream a performance while each member was self-isolating in their own home. Some of the band's friends from the Adelaide metal scene joined the conference call to help with sound, lighting, and...uh, stage management....
"Lorem Ipsum" lyrically is a commentary on the spread of misinformation and uninformed opinions that has been propagated by the evolution of the internet and social media; how appropriate. Luckily, the band remembered to press the record button and captured how it all unfolded.
Pitchfork Justice stews together ingredients from sludge, thrash, and hardcore (among other things), and it’s recommended for fans of High on Fire, Black Breath, and Power Trip (among other groups).
Tracklist:

Pitchfork Justice contains nine cohesive songs that are a unique blend of sludge metal, old-school thrash, and hardcore, with modern and diverse vocals. The production is lively and bombastic, as well as punchy and aggressive, and the lyrics make a strong statement about the current state of the world, particularly around social media and PC culture.
"Pitchfork Justice" was recorded and mixed by Jimmy Balderston at Ghostnote Recording Studios (Scott Kelly, Sumeru, Space Bong) in Adelaide, and mastered by Dav Byrne at Iridium Audio (Witchskull, YLVA, Space Bong).
All artwork and layouts were done by Adelaide local Steve Lehmann.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO
Shatter Brain are an Adelaide based metal band comprised of members of some of South Australia’s most successful heavy bands. Boasting a diverse vocal performance that ranges from ear piercing highs to sewer dwelling lows the band also draws on an eclectic but coherent range of influences and seamlessly blends fast, razor-tight rhythms with laid back grooves. Their sound is reminiscent of its contemporaries, such as High on Fire, Merauder, Black Breath, and Power Trip, with the occasional nod to classic metal and crossover.
Shatter Brain launched in January 2018, releasing a four-song demo that was recorded and mixed by guitarist Jack Hartley and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy). The release was accompanied by a video clip for the debut single “Rip the Stitch” (https://youtu.be/rT0hoiV1AsU), and was supported by an Australian & New Zealand Tour between Feb and April. This tour culminated with a debut home town show in front of over 650 punters at the annual Heavy SA Festival. Bootleg footage from this tour is documented in the music video for the band’s second single “Discard” (https://youtu.be/OfDZV_-_Fak).
The band then commenced the "Rip the Stitch Asia Tour" in June/July. This tour included three shows in Taiwan, including a headlining performance at Wake Up Fest in Chiayi, and shows in Thailand and Malaysia as main support for Brazilian crossover-thrash legends R.D.P. (Ratos de Porão).
Upon returning to Australia, Shatter Brain released a split vinyl EP (aptly titled “The Twelve Inch Split”) with Melbourne band Blunt Shovel in early August and embarked on another tour with King Parrot and Blunt Shovel. The Twelve Inch Split featured two new Shatter Brain songs and a cover of the Mastodon classic “Blood and Thunder”. The release of the split was accompanied by a music video for the opening track “The Ship That Never Sinks” which featured footage of the band performing the song at Heavy SA earlier that year (https://youtu.be/yQWzjiyK1c4). 2018 also saw Shatter Brain supporting Power Trip (USA) on the Adelaide date of their Australian tour.
So far in 2019, Shatter Brain have not showed any signs of slowing down. The band begun the year with a tour of Japan and returned to Australia to open for Max and Iggor Cavalera’s (Sepultura) “Return to Beneath the Arise” tour, during which Tom joined Max on stage to sing a rendition of AC/DCs “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”. Shatter Brain entered the studio in July to record their debut album, due for release in 2020, and the band rounded out the year by supporting Eyehategod (USA) in November.
With their debut album on the way, 2020 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for Shatter Brain!
