Australian brutal death metal trio Slaughtercult are back with Devoured By Perversion, their crushing sophomore album, due out September 24 via Vicious Instinct Records.
The album features guest appearances from Elfi Davis of Kraanium and Marvin Ruiz of Devourment, with Slaughtercult pushing their already savage sound to even more punishing extremes. Since erupting from Sydney's underground in 2022, Slaughtercult have rapidly become one of Australia's fiercest extreme metal exports. Built on cavernous riffs, relentless blast beats, grotesque slams, and an uncompromisingly violent approach, the trio have earned a reputation through sheer sonic brutality, both on record and on stage.
Their independently released debut, Meat Head, introduced the band to the international underground, surpassing 75,000 Spotify streams while gaining further momentum through YouTube and Slam Worldwide. Along the way, Slaughtercult have shared stages with Nile, Undeath, Gutalax, Rivers of Nihil, and Cytotoxin, establishing themselves as a must-see live act.
Now, Devoured By Perversion raises the stakes even further. More focused, more punishing, and more vicious than its predecessor, the album fuses brutal death metal, grind, and hardcore into an unrelenting barrage of crushing riffs, pulverizing grooves, and grotesque aggression that feels unmistakably Australian.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Slaughtercult is an Australian brutal death metal/grindcore trio from Sydney, New South Wales. Formed in September 2022, the band has quickly established itself within Australia's thriving underground extreme metal scene through an uncompromising blend of savage brutal death metal, grindcore and hardcore aggression. Their music is built around primitive, groove-laden riffs, relentless blast beats, guttural dual vocals and lyrics inspired by gore, murder and classic horror films.
The band was founded by guitarist/vocalist Jeremy McLoughlin and bassist/vocalist Sean Cartwright, initially working with programmed drums before recruiting drummer Justin Gonzalez. Their first major release was the independently issued full-length Meat Head in December 2023, an album that showcased short, brutally efficient songs combining old-school death metal heaviness with modern slam and grind influences. The record helped introduce Slaughtercult to a wider international audience through Bandcamp, streaming platforms and underground extreme metal media.
Rather than slowing down after their debut, Slaughtercult maintained a steady release schedule throughout 2025 with a series of standalone singles—including "Repulsed By Your Haggard Appearance", "Soft Foetal Malformation"—followed by the Demo 2025 collection. In 2026 they continued their momentum by releasing "Menstrual Marinade", featuring guest vocals from Elfi Davis of Kraanium, further cementing their reputation among fans of contemporary brutal death metal and slam.
Live performances have become an important part of the band's identity. Despite being a relatively new act, Slaughtercult have shared stages with numerous Australian extreme metal bands and earned recognition for their energetic, no-frills performances. Their growing profile led to appearances at larger underground events, including Necrosonic Festival 2026, reflecting the rapid rise of the band within the Australian death metal scene.
Musically, Slaughtercult draw inspiration from classic brutal death metal, goregrind and slam while maintaining a raw, straightforward approach that emphasizes crushing riffs over technical excess. Their songs are concise, violent and memorable, appealing to fans of bands such as Devourment, Kraanium, Disentomb and early grindcore pioneers. Although still early in their career, Slaughtercult have already become one of the more promising names emerging from Australia's modern brutal death metal underground.
