The American Power Metal-band TRAUMA should be known to quite a few Heavy Metal-enthusiasts out there through their contribution to the “Metal Massacre”-sampler and the release of their 1984 debut album “Scratch And Scream”. By the way, the late, great Cliff Burton played bass on their first demo recording... Now, after three decades, the band from California have decided to give it another go! TRAUMA has returned to deliver more face-melting Heavy Metal unto the hungry masses! Ladies and gentlemen, Pure Steel are proud to present you “Rapture And Wrath”, their first album in thirty years!
It’s all there: The powerful and charismatic high-pitched vocals of Donny Hillier, which can be described as a cross between Geoff Tate and Bruce Dickinson, the hard rockin’ guitars and many exciting melodic passages. Trauma was Founded in 1982 Trauma recorded " Such a Shame" on Metal Massacre II. And toured the US. Cliff Burton (bass) left the band and joined Metallica. TRAUMA signed with Shrapnel records and recorded Scratch and Scream and performed many live dates in support of the release. The band disbanded in 1986.
Over the years and with considerable pirating of the records and being sought by collectors, 2 of the original members Don Hillier (vocals) and Kris Gustofson (drums) decided to put a new lineup together. Guitarist/Songwriter, Kurt Fry from the Bay area has joined the ranks. Kurt has performed nationally and internationally with current major artists. Bassist Steve Robello Is the band's newest member who played in Dublin Death Patrol with Chuck Billy (testament) and Steve Souza (exodus).
Some of the bands associated with Trauma 's members include, St Elmos Fire, Heist, Black Sunday Dream, Krokus, Mechanizm, Moon Dog Mane, Dublin Death Patrol and many others.
After reforming in 2012 the band signed with Pure Steel Records in 2013 and have played live dates in Germany. The band plans on touring nationally and internationally upon the release of the new record titled " The Rapture and Wrath" that will be available worldwide late 2014.
