The time has come to return to the world of the battle angel, Tyrael! Two years after their stunning debut, Hell Walker, hard-hitting melodic metal band Tyraels Ascension are back with the second part in an ongoing trilogy of conceptual albums - Grave Seeker! Continuing the tale of Tyrael, an angel who descends to a broken world to fight against the demons that plague its inhabitants, Grave Seeker takes all the glorious guitar work, savage vocals, incredible riffs, atmosphere, emotion and melody of its predecessor and lifts them to new heights. The wait has felt endless, but now the journey begins once more…
Beginning in emphatic fashion with the stunning 'No End In Sight', the electrifying excitement that drove Hell Walker forward so successfully is present in every note. Aggression, power, magnificent choruses and engaging melodies, all spectacularly adorned in breathtaking guitar work that takes the best of classic metal soloing and searing technicality and fuses them into an exhilarating metallic weapon - Tyrael's sword in sonic form! Grave Seeker not only matches Hell Walker, riff for adrenaline infused riff, it builds on the debut's indestructible foundations, adding a rich emotional depth to the songwriting, infusing each track with a darker, more profound intensity.
First single, 'Bittersweet', is the perfect example of the emotive power inherent in Grave Seeker's songs - steeped in melancholy, entwined in masterful guitar work and reaching a beautiful conclusion. Other highlights include 'Fire From The Sky', weighty with ominous portent and featuring a throat ripping, impassioned vocal performance from Alex Theesen, 'The Serpent's Demise' with its superb sense of narrative, towering melodies and enthralling atmosphere and 'Fragmented Pieces' - guitars leaping, turning and twisting while the locked in rhythm section delivers tight, focussed hammer blows of magnificent force. In truth though, every listen to Grave Seeker, every visit to Tyrael's world reveals new highlights and new moments of magic. This album is a phenomenal achievement with every individual element radiating absolute class.
With artwork that leads the listener into the album's story and sound that combines power, clarity and a cutting edge, harnessing the formidable energy that infuses the songs, every aspect of Grave Seeker has been meticulously curated. Upon its release by Rottweiler Records on July 24th Grave Seeker will lead Tyraels Ascension into the hearts and minds of metal fans the world over. The war against the darkness continues…the battle rages on!

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Tyraels Ascension is an American melodic death metal / metalcore band from Olympia, Washington. The band was formed by guitarists Kevin McNeil (Deathbreaker) and Sean Searls (Bury Your Burdens), with vocalist Alex Theesen completing the core lineup. Their sound blends aggressive metalcore with melodic death metal influences inspired by bands such as In Flames, Soilwork, Trivium, and Shadows Fall.
The band gained attention with their debut album Hell Walker, released in 2024 through Rottweiler Records. The album combines fast, aggressive riffing with melodic twin-guitar harmonies, emotional themes, and modern metal production. Critics highlighted the band’s strong guitar work and dynamic songwriting, often comparing their style to classic melodic metalcore and Gothenburg-inspired death metal.
Lyrically, Tyraels Ascension focuses on personal struggle, trauma, perseverance, and inner conflict rather than fantasy themes alone. Tracks such as “Descent,” “Inferno,” and “Holy Fire” explore emotional hardship and self-reflection, giving the music a darker and more introspective atmosphere.
The Hell Walker era also stood out because the band expanded the album’s concept into a companion video game project, further building the dark fantasy universe surrounding the release.
