There was no reason beyond the satisfaction derived from the impact of steel on flesh and bone. I could list the crimes, the obscene acts perpetrated by the shattered creature at my feet, but I know this was all about the wave of euphoria that rises through my body as facial structure gradually collapses and desperate pleas become incomprehensible, gurgling wails…pitiful mewling through a blood-filled mouth, between broken teeth. I could call this ruination of the human form justice, vengeance, a righteous settling of scores…but it's just violence; violence only and nothing more…
US based Violence Only are a new name on the brutal death metal scene. However, in the band's ranks lurks a wealth of experience from the front lines of extreme music's war on civilised society. Featuring members of Between The Killings, Stabbing, Flesh Hoarder, Horrific Visions, Embodied Torment and Enfrenzied, this is one band that is intimately familiar with the essential essence of absolute brutality. Now, after a series of delays which have only served to heighten the fevered anticipation for its final unveiling, Violence Only are at last set to unleash their self-titled, debut EP - and this beast of a release delivers exactly what the band have always promised it would - “no gimmicks, no trends, no compromises. Just pure Brutal Death Metal!”
Violence Only's visceral assault on the senses begins with 'Strong Arm Beatdown', a track that plunges you into a maelstrom of chaos where blast beats send shock waves through your internal organs and guitars open fire with spiralling riffs and massive concussive blows. A voice of inhuman malice strides through this inferno and the colossal force generated is both magnificent and overwhelming. Superb tempo shifts and moments of absolute song writing class lift this onslaught to elite level brutality. 'Facial Deconstruction' follows, the guitars switching between frantic madness, precision dismemberment and a monstrous, thuggish crawl. These songs are constantly shifting and evolving with an unpredictable savagery that you dare not look away from; the riffs so exquisitely twisted that they entrench themselves in your frontal lobe after just one listen. Basking in the blood and battery of 'Warm Dissection' with its fiercely frenetic drumming and heart-stopping changes of pace, even knowing the vast assembled experience of the Violence Only line up, the accomplished nature of this debut EP is staggering. We careen onwards through the immense, breathless barbarity of 'Victimized And Laughing' before arriving at the climactic, complex carnage of 'Hatred For Humanity' - steeped in sinister atmosphere this brain mangling final fusillade is the perfect conclusion to the adrenalized display of devastation. Taking elements from all the band members' previous experiences and binding them in barbed wire creativity, Violence Only have captured something new, something wild yet tightly controlled, a pulverizing paradox with skull shattering impact.

BIOGRAPHY/LOGO

Violence Only is a brutal death metal band from the United States and Canada, delivering an uncompromising combination of crushing slam-infused riffs, relentless blast beats and guttural brutality. Emerging from the North American underground, the band quickly established itself as a new force within the brutal death metal scene, focusing on a direct and devastating approach with little concern for trends or unnecessary embellishment.
The band features vocalist Braxton Keyser, guitarist Andrew Mathews, bassist Mark Chandler and drummer Rene Martinez. Martinez is already a familiar name within the American brutal death metal underground through his involvement with several extreme metal acts, while Keyser has also been active within the scene as the driving force behind Gravemind Entertainment and the Shamrock Slaughter Festival.
Violence Only began attracting wider attention in early 2026 with the release of “Strong Arm Beatdown”, a track that immediately demonstrated the band's musical direction: dense, heavily distorted guitars, punishing rhythmic grooves, violent bursts of speed and deep guttural vocals. Their sound draws heavily from traditional brutal death metal while incorporating the massive breakdowns and rhythmic weight associated with slam death metal.
The band also became part of the live underground circuit, appearing alongside a wide range of established and emerging extreme metal acts. Their participation in the 2026 Shamrock Slaughter Festival placed Violence Only among bands such as Incantation, Sanguisugabogg, Pyrexia, Regurgitation, Atoll and numerous representatives of the American death metal underground.
In 2026, Violence Only joined forces with Comatose Music, one of the long-running labels dedicated to brutal death metal. The partnership resulted in the band's self-titled debut EP, “Violence Only”, scheduled for release on November 6, 2026.
The five-track EP consists of “Strong Arm Beatdown,” “Facial Deconstruction,” “Warm Dissection,” “Victimized and Laughing” and “Hatred for Humanity.” The material presents Violence Only at its most direct and destructive, combining concussive guitar work and massive grooves with frantic blast beats and an aggressively guttural vocal attack.
With their debut release, Violence Only position themselves firmly within the modern North American brutal death metal underground. Rather than attempting to reinvent the genre, the band embraces its most violent characteristics: speed, heaviness, groove and sheer physical impact. Their philosophy is reflected perfectly in the band's name — Violence Only.
